Online design platform Canva came to With to help build brand awareness in the UK, with a focus on promoting its enterprise, education, Pro, and free product. While Canva was already well established with unicorn status and a huge footprint elsewhere in the world, this Australian startup was challenged by low levels of understanding here in the UK.
With’s ‘Relevant, Right Now’ strategy focused on finding a suite of highly topical uses for the platform that would appeal to specific audiences and play to the news agenda. From using Canva to build post-Covid CVs to writing stylish letters to Santa, we were able to engage tier 1 media and their audiences both inside and out of the tech and design sphere. We brought priority media inside the Canva journey, delivering briefings with CNBC, Business Insider, The Telegraph, The Independent and Stuff. We then applied our ‘angle grinder’ to news from the business to make sure that landmark hires, new product features and funding news all landed valuable and relevant media exposure.
